Pizza Rossa 2

Last year, the very popular (and delicious) Pizza Rossa launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube and took home £440,000 in just 17 days. Since then the company has opened a shop at London Wall, along with a pop-up at Leadenhall Market. Now, the startup is making a return to the popular platform, this time to raise another £150,000 and offer 10.12% in equity.

Pizza Rossa 5According to the campaign, Pizza Rossa is seeking to create a chain of Italian-style quick service pizzerias in London. Its mission is to become the namesake brand for premium pizza al taglio (pizza by-the-square-slice) in the UK.

The company’s team stated, “Our core product is delicious high quality pizza sold by-the-slice freshly made daily with high quality ingredients from Italy, easy to eat-on-the-go, low-calorie and serve within 90 seconds from order. We think it is great value for money too with full meals starting at £4.99 for two slices”

Explaining the company’s progress, the team explained,”Our first 5 months in operation already showed that customers love our products and we have high percentages of returning customers. (But don’t just take our word for it, come in and try!). We also serve other authentic Italian classics, including lasagne, paninis and cakes and we established a successful partnership with Kimbo, the second largest Italian coffee roaster, for hot drinks.

“Key in our proposition is centralized production that leads to significant scalability in number of outlets in prime high footfall locations. As part of our effort on innovation, we were the first ones in the UK to use Oyster and contactless bank and credit cards to register customers for our new loyalty system.”

Corrado AccardiDuring a recent interview with Big Hospitality, founder and chief executive of Pizza Rossa, Corrado Accardi stated, “We are confident that this new campaign will the attention of investors watching the steady growth of Pizza Rossa. Since we opened the first pop-up at Leadenhall Market in June, we have served in the region of 20,000 people – and that’s only a five-day a week operation. We opened at London Wall just three weeks ago, and we are extremely encouraged by the results to date. It seems that the City has really taken to Pizza Rossa, and it proves that our concept is right on target for this audience.”

Since its second debut on the crowdfunding platform, Pizza Rossa has raised nearly £69,000 thanks to over 30 investors. Its campaign is set to close on January 31st.
