Simon Deane-Johns Talks Crowdfunding Regulations (Video)

Simon Deane-JohnsZopa co-founder and Keystone attorney Simon Deane-Johns recently participated in several panels at the successful ECN Crowdfunding Convention held in Paris in December.  Zopa was the first peer to peer lending platform so Deane-Johns has been engaged in new forms of finance since the early days and he has had the opportunity to see the evolution up close. He currently advises various crowdfunding platforms including rewards and investment based plus peer to peer lending.

In speaking at the Crowdfunding Convention, Deane-Johns was a staunch advocate of a light touch regulatory approach, exemplified by the UK, which has allowed the industry to develop rapidly. He contrasts this with the US and France, countries he believes have been too restrictive early on thus stunting the industry’s growth potential.

If you are involved with the crowdfunding industry this is definitely worth a watch.
