UK’s Wedding Supplies Website World of Wedmin Seeks £100,000 Through Equity Crowdfunding Campaign on Seedrs

Earlier this month, Brighton-based wedding supplies website World of Wedmin (WOW) launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs to raise £100,000 to continue its expansion through the UK.

WOW 4According to its campaign, World of Wedmin is an online platform that enables brides and grooms to find and compare wedding suppliers throughout the UK. The company states that its website’s functionality, displaying supplier’s prices, availability and customers reviews in a single click make World of Wedmin stand out from its online or traditional competitors.The website is free for couples or wedding planners to use and suppliers (other than venues) may pay on a pay-per-enquiry (or pay-click basis), with the option to move to an all inclusive monthly subscription.

Explaining why they decided to create the website, the WOW team shared, “We believe the wedding supplier industry to be a large but still very fragmented market. For brides and grooms, the result is that it is hard to see the range of available services and supplier, and to compare based on values that are important to them, be it style, price, previous recommendation.

WOW 3“For suppliers, it can be hard to be found and to present services in the best way. With marketing budgets often tight, the site helps suppliers manager their budget more effectively. World of Wedmin is designed to solve these market problems by displaying relevant content that is easily available and comparable, saving both time and money for couples and suppliers.”

World of Wedmin currently has over 600 suppliers that are registered on the platform in over 22 categories. The website received 10,000 visitors and has generated almost 60,000 pages viewed in this past quarter.

World of Wedmin will use the funds for the following:

  • WOW 2New website to support additional business models and improve conversion
  • Employment of full-time web developer to react quicker to market needs
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to drive organic traffic
  • More extensive marketing campaigns through Facebook Ads and Google Adwords to drive and enquiries
  • Sponsorship and presence at major wedding trade shows and industry competitions to boost brand awareness and develop partnerships.

Those who invest in World of Wedmin’s crowdfunding campaign will receive 12.50% in equity. Since the launch, the project has raised over half of its funding goal. It is set to close on March 9th.
