Final rules on Title IV of the JOBS Act, Regulation A+, were announced last week by the SEC. The rules will be available for companies interested in raising capital in a bit over 60 days. There has been much speculation and discussion regarding the impact of what has been described as a mini-IPO like exemption – one that allows anyone to participate and not just accredited investors. While the proof will be defined by how the exemption is actually utilized, crowdfunding platforms are already gearing up to take advantage of the new securities rules that allow up to a $50 million raise.
