2,500 Naked Wines Investors Capture £190,000 in Nearly a Week For Unknown French Winemaker Jean Marc

2,500 Naked Wines investors have backed relatively unknown French winemaker Jean Marc Astruc – pre-ordering 30,000 bottles of wine to raise over £190,000 in under a week.

For 12 years, Jean Marc was the President of his local wine co-operative. But after a tough couple of years, he was forced to stand down. After leaving his contract with his local co-operative in Tuchan, Southern France, Jean Marc was free to make wine of his own. He just needed the backing.

Marc approached Naked Wines, and their 150,000 Angels were happy to step in and show their support. Over 1,000 cases were ordered in less than 24 hours. The helping hand from Naked’s Angels has given Jean Marc the backing he needs to finally start making wines in his own right.

Marc is the Fiancé of winemaker Katie Jones. 2,500 Angels stepped in to rescue Katie in 2013, when vandals emptied an entire vintage of her award-winning wine.

Sharing his thoughts about the support he has received on Naked Wines, Marc stated:

“This is a huge day for me. It is a big dream come true and the investment will help to transform my business. I sat at home watching the site and it was totally incredible! Every time I blinked a new bid came in. I feel like my new adventure is really going to start. I still can’t believe it!”
