16 Year Old Raises Capital on Crowdcube for “Social Marley” a Social Media Management Tool

BenTowersBen Towers may now claim Crowdcube’s youngest ever individual to launch an equity crowdfunding campaign.  Ben is a 16 year old that has created a social media platform called Social Marley and he is hoping to raise £100,000 for a 15% stake in his startup. The offer is SEIS pending with A shares priced at £2000.  Starting companies is apparently old hat for Ben having launched his first business at the age 11.  Today he manages Towers Design, a digital media agency that employs 15 people. According to his website he has worked with over 500 companies.

Social Marley is a new digital dashboard designed to assist SMEs manage their social media presence. Social Marley is said to allow businesses to manage, schedule and analyse their Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus (and more), enabling a consistent brand identity.

“I am determined to get the investment we need for Social Marley and I’m hoping it will be funded by small businesses in the UK – the very ones who need help with their social media and will benefit hugely using this dashboard,” said Ben.

Social MarleySocial Marley wants to target the over 5 million businesses in the UK today – 99.3% classed as small. Social Marley is envisioned as saving businesses a lot of time and resources, whilst streamlining all of their social media activity.  Social Marley will be challenging other established platforms that provide a similar service today.

“Ben is the youngest person to pitch for investment on Crowdcube, it’s a real demonstration of how crowdfunding is a truly accessible route for entrepreneurs, at every stage of their career, to raise finance to get their business off the ground,” stated Luke Lang, co-founder of Crowdcube.
