Indiegogo’s Slava Rubin Shares His Thoughts On Taylor Swift Convincing Apple to Pay Independent Artists (Video)

Weighing in on Taylor Swift’s recent move to convince Apple to start paying independent artists, CEO of Indiegogo, Slava Rubin, sat down with Squawk Alley to reveal his thoughts on the situation.

taylor swiftRecently the country-gone-pop starlet revealed her thoughts about Apple and how she didn’t believe its system was fair at all to independent artists:

“I find it to be shocking, disappointing and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company.

During his interview, Rubin stated:

Slava Rubin CES 2015 2“Usually Apple is very, very creative when it comes to these negotiations. When it came to Apple Pay, they were able to squeeze out part of the percentage from the big banks or from credit card companies. But little independent artists is not a multi-million dollar credit card company. We don’t want to be squeezing out of someone who is in a garage trying to figure out their next song. So I think Taylor Swift is trying to represent all of them.

 

“I think it was smart how swiftly they were able to change their ruling on this, to now be able to money. I think there’s potential for this to come out as a positive if they can represent.”
