CrowdfunderUK’s Dawn Bebe: “Here’s Why UK Startups Need the ‘Funding Cocktail'”

This week, CrowdfunderUK’s co-founder and director of communications, Dawn Bebe, revealed why UK startup should consider going for a “funding cocktail.”

Explaining what a “funding cocktail” really is, Bebe stated:

Dawn Bebe“Increasingly businesses, charities and social enterprises are finding that combining funding solutions in a ‘cocktail’ is a really powerful way to get the support they need. Rewards crowdfunding is a great way to get initial funding and grass roots validation for ideas. It can also be a great way to get match fund for grants, sponsorship and other funding sources – we have lots of partners providing match fund on our site – like Plymouth City Council and Cornwall Community Foundation. We also offer community shares and access to equity crowdfunding, which can form other parts of the funding jigsaw – depending on your needs and what stage you’re at.”

Dawn went on to note why “funding cocktails” are useful to startups:

“Banks can often be cautious when it comes to investing in start-ups, grants can be hard to find and without validation your idea is a good one, it can be difficult to find the funding you need to grow. Crowdfunding can enable you to get the initial support you need from your community, validate your idea and get you the initial funding you need to turn your idea into reality. Crowdfunder often unlocks additional support from our partners like Virgin StartUp, JCDecaux and Not On The High Street.”

In regards to what other support will CrowdfunderUK be offering from now on, Bebe added:

CrowdfunderUK“Crowdfunder is raising £1million on the world’s leading equity platform, Crowdcube, to expand the business to offer projects additional support and services. We want to connect more people and project to partners. We currently are the UK’s #1 rewards crowdfunding platform, by number of successful projects, but going forward we want to offer more projects the opportunity to access funding like community shares, equity, loans – and other forms of support offered by our partners like Instantprint, Plymouth City Council and Axa.”
