Aircall app on macParis-based tech startup Aircall has closed a $2.75 million seed round led by Balderton Capital.  The funding round  also received the support of online investment platform FundersClub, along with other US based angels.

Aircall is a online phone system that may be deployed in “seconds”.  The application does not depend on landlines but may be quickly downloaded to create a system that is said to be perfect for teams. The App also integrates with popular software like Slack, Zendesk, Salesforce and more.  Aircall is already in use by “thousands” of customers including Uber. Aircall allows users to set up one or many different phone numbers regardless of location.  In a world where teams are disperse and offices are virtual, Aircall makes it easy to do away with expensive hardware and software and to manage your telecommunications on your smartphone. Pricing starts at just €10 per month.

Aircall teamAircall is a recent graduate from the 500Startups accelerator in San Francisco, and is hiring employees for both its San Francisco and Paris offices.  The new funding will be used to increase growth and reinforce sales.

Olivier Pailhes, co-founder and CEO of Aircall said; “We’re experiencing such a high level of demand from customers that we want to double the team over the next four to six months, and accelerate the pace we’re adding features to our product.”

Aircall is a stark alternative in a phone system market historically plagued with antiquated and clumsy VoIP and call center software. The system also adds a collaboration layer, which makes it easier to share information among teams while on conference calls.

“In the past year, the need to transform business telephony and remove the complications around customer service has increased immensely,” said Jerrod Engelberg, head of venture at FundersClub. “We are captivated by the expertise of the founding team, impressed by the quality of customers that have quickly integrated Aircall into their daily operations, and are excited to partner with them.”

FundersClub is an investment crowdfunding platform that caters to over 16,000 accredited investors providing access to highly vetted startups.

Aircall launched in June of 2014.  The company received seed funding in the amount of $800,000 in 2015.  The concept was driven by the experience of Fotofolio’s team and their struggle with using Skype which simply could not scale and was clunky at best.  Aircall quickly gained traction addressing an issue that many emerging companies had endured.
