Last week, Crowdcube #FundedClub member, DeskBeers, celebrated its first birthday. The company launched a campaign on the equity crowdfunding platform last year and secured £121,900 from 129 investors so that it can begin expansion.
DeskBeers is a craft beer subscription service focused on delivering great beer to workplaces. It currently delivers 12-1500 bottles a week across London and Brighton. The company stated:
“Our boxes contain 12 beers, made up of 2 or 3 different styles of beer from 1 or more breweries. This allows teams to try a new beer together and chat about work at the end of the week. DeskBeers creates a mini team-building event in offices for as little as £3 per employee. That’s a pretty easy win as far as staff perks go!”
While sharing details about its birthday celebration, DeskBeers commented:
“To celebrate DeskBeers’ first birthday we headed over to UBREW to create our own beer. DeskBeers has actually been operating longer than a year, but since 1st March 2015 was the date we started trading as a limited company we thought that it’s a good a date as any to celebrate.”
The DeskBeer crew went on to reveal their brew sheet and added:
“For the un-initiated, brewing it’s not all drinking and beards. There is a decent amount of science involved in creating your favourite beer. As shown on our brew sheet it requires precise measurements to be followed at all times. We got started by measuring out the Malt and Barley with a precision that would have booked us a place in Great British Bake Off semi-finals.”
