North South, a sustainable lifestyle brand for adventurous urbanites and young professionals, recently launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube to raise £100,000 as it continues to develop its products.
The company revealed that it is aiming to provide high-quality, stylish clothing by using sustainably and ethically sources materials (recycled plastic bottles, bamboo, and wood pulp). It is also planning for its future products to feature organic materials from Japan to Peru.
“We want to be ethical and stylish. We want to make clothes that can handle the demands of an adventurous lifestyle, as well as be aesthetically smart enough for the urban environment.”
North South has already achieved the following:
- Featured in British GQ
- Received UNLTD Social Enterprise Award
- Named NACUE Social Impact Award Finalist
- Has pop-up shops in Pop Brixton and Old Street in London
The company also noted:
“We strongly believe that North South combines style, quality, sustainable and ethical production and affordability in one package. We want to cross the ethical / style divide that has eluded other brands and appeal to a mass market. This should enable us to have an impact on the industry, as customers see that our combination of style and sustainable is available to regular consumers.”
Funds from the campaign will be used for product development, stock, marketing and HR. North South then explained:
“We aim to slowly expand on the products we offer, so we can prioritise on sourcing the best material make ups that allows our clothing to last. Access to some of the best and most innovative textile mills in the world at such an early stage is something we’re very proud to have achieved.”
The campaign is set to close at the beginning of May.
