With just months until Kickstarter backers begin to receive their highly-anticipated G-Ro, the crew behind the highly anticipated luggage has unveiled pictures and videos of the wheels being tested out.
G-RO is described as a unique luggage system that is on a mission to evolved from the shifts and changes in travelers’ needs and daily routines. It provides a solution for the busy business traveler’s needs, whether they’re traveling around the block or around the world. The product is based on innovative engineering and design concepts, including large, axle-less wheels and has successfully overcome the challenges posed by the cardinal issues of durability, affordability, interior and exterior volume, and weight, delivering a superior luggage system for today’s on-the-go crowd.
G-RO secured $3 million from nearly 9,000 backers during its Kickstarter run. The company predicts it’ll deliver the luggage next summer. While sharing details about the wheels, the G-Ro crew revealed:
“We spent hours and hours testing the durability of our wheels through drop tests (sorry, neighbors!) and treadmill-based endurance tests. We put lots of miles on the wheels to ensure that the polymers, ball bearings and tires work together as one robust, well-functioning wheel. With that being said, we’ve opened the injection molds for the wheels. After these molds are completed in a few weeks, our wheel manufacturer can begin producing wheels. We have sourced a special raw material from Belgium that is being delivered to the factory for the production of the wheels. This unique material will increase the wheels’ durability and lightness. Although we’re working with the supplier to shorten the lead time, we could experience delays in the production of the wheels due the availability of the material.”
