Nearly one year after announcing E-Car Club’s exit, founders of the company, Christopher Morris and Andrew Wordsworth sat down to discuss the company’s Crowdcube success and more details about its acquisition.

E-Car Club 1E-Car Club raised £100,000 on Crowdcube back in 2013 (campaign opened in Fall 2012). The company went on to raise further capital from “socially minded investors,” including some of the crowdfunding investors, and then received funding by Ignite Social Enterprise. Details of the transaction were not revealed.

The company, which was launched in 2011, is a startup that focuses on the electric car sharing business. Headquartered in London, the company currently operates across London, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Warwickshire, and Fife. E-Car Club was said to have established a “distinctive partner-led car sharing solution.”

E-Car Club was acquired by EuropCar in July 2015. The exit was described as a “significant milestone” for Crowdcube. Check out the full interview below.
