On Friday, Crowdcube released a new introduction video that reveals the best parts (stats, #FundedClub members, etc.) of its crowdfunding platform. This new clip comes just days after the website announced it was named 2016 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the London and South regions and its upcoming iOS app.
Launched in 2011, Crowdcube dubbed itself as the world’s leading investment based crowdfunding platform. In 2015, it became the first UK equity funding portal to surpass the £100 million investment mark. The website also raised over £1 million for 12 companies last year alone – many of these are backed by VCs.
At the time, Darren Westlake, CEO and co-founder of Crowdcube, stated:
“Funding more than £100 million from our growing investor community of 200,000 are significant landmarks for investment crowdfunding. They clearly demonstrate how Crowdcube has the biggest and most active investor community in the world.”
