Sterling Shave Club, a monthly subscription service that delivers quality razors and shaving gear, is seeking to raise £150,000 through its new Seedrs initiative.
The company, which was founded in 2013 and has over 3,000 members, currently delivers razor blades to both men and women across the UK. The subscriptions start at just £4.99 per package moving up to £13.99 per package. The razors offered are traditional (DE safety razors) and common razor cartridges. Sterling Shave Club noted that it would soon be offering 3, 6 and 12 monthly options and first delivery includes a free, high-quality Sterling handle.
“Members can upgrade, downgrade, add new subscriptions, change their delivery date, change their delivery address, pause, restart and manage their account online. From their member section on the website they can also track their deliveries and the status of any referral benefits they have on their account.”
The Sterling Shave Club crew also noted that they had launched numerous shaving products on the website and aims to expand the products in the future. They are looking to add hair products and shower gels within the next few months.
“We don’t see our business as just being subscriptions, a secondary source of revenue comes from our website. We have had interest from people around the world interested in buying our website coding or franchising from us. We believe that the value in this website which has been coded specifically for the subscription market is significant in itself. We would stress that this is definitely not our primary goal and we would ensure all safeguards were put in place to ensure no conflict of interest.”
Funds from the campaign will be used marketing, increase stock holding, upgrade the website, add more products to services, and launch a sister website.
The initiative is set to close at the beginning of September.
