Atlas of the Soul 2

Over the weekend, creators of the Kickstarter project, Atlas of the Soul, announced Star Wars legend, James Earl Jones, is set to join the cast of the upcoming romantic drama. The film, which debuted on the crowdfunding platform in May 2015, successfully raised $29,476 from 180 backers and is described as “an ethereal love story following the journey of two souls connecting across time and space.”

Atlas of the Soul 1Sharing details about the film, writer and lead producer Lauren Fox stated in an interview with Variety:

“I knew what kind of film I wanted to write; a simple love story about not-so-simple people, that wasn’t maudlin or saccharine. I believe in the love story. I think more films should be about love. So many films today are spectacles filled with gratuitous sex, violence, and noise. We need quieter films that show real people connecting to each other in a real way.”

Jones is set to portray a mailman that is delivering packages that contain rocks with names of various cities to a man named Edward, who lives alone and has been receiving these messages from his former lover, Sparrow, who is currently driving cross-country and living out of her van.

Jones will be joining the cast alongside Fox, Andy Power, Connor Paolo, and Emily Bergl. Besides Star Wars, Jones is known for his work on the set of various well-known films, including  The Lion King, Patriot Games, and The Great White Hope. The film is set to premiere later this year.
