Ready to expand its homemade fashion accessories marketplace, The Pommier has launched Seedrs initiative with a mission to raise £100,000 for continuous growth and development.
The marketplace, which was founded three years ago, connects worldwide customers with homemade fashion accessories from emerging designers. The Pommier team stated they seek to improve the way customers shop for fashion accessories by curating their selection of feature designs. Some accessories included on the website are rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and bags.
“Through our platform, we make it easier for independent designers to gain access to a global customer base to build their business and for customers to find handmade jewelry, and accessories from the other side of the world that they wouldn’t normally have access to.”
To date, 87 independent designs have signed up for the marketplace, which has generated more than 90,000 page views in the last six months, and received repeated orders as much as three purchases in the last three months.
“Our model is simple, we discover, we promote, we sell, but only the best fashionable emerging brands out there. We are able to do this with low costs as we do not hold any stock and our designers ship directly to the customer when a sale is made.”
Funds from the campaign will be used for marketing purposes, such as social media ads, Google ads, and PR. The company also plans to hire three new staff members, social media/marketing manager, SEO/SEM manager, and account manager. It was also revealed:
“We will need to relocate from our Co-Working Space in Chancery Lane to a dedicated office. We have found two locations at Hackney Downs Studios and The Pill Building in Bethnal Green which would be an ideal location and hope to attract a number of creative people from the local area to work with us.”
The campaign is set to close in October.
