Overfunding: Fitmo Surpasses €150,000 Funding Target on Seedrs

Just a few weeks after launching its Seedrs campaign, Amsterdam-based fitech company Fitmo has successfully secured its initial €150,000 funding target from nearly 70 investors.

fitmo-1Fitmo’s personal app is described as a mobile coaching platform that connects fitness coaches with users. Its features include 24/7 communication with coaches, video/audio-guided workouts created by coaches for the gym or running outdoors, and a comprehensive workout plan. Service options include 1-on-1 training for maximum personalization starting from £6 per week or a lighter option, which is £3 per week, with set training programs. Fitmo shared:

“Anyone who’s busy will know how difficult it is to maintain a healthy routine, missing early morning gym sessions or being too tired to exercise after work. Personal trainers can help solve the problem by making you more accountable but it’s difficult to justify giving away such a large chunk of your salary on something other than rent. Fitmo solves these problems by using the smartphone to elegantly pair professional fitness coaches with suitable clients at a fraction of the cost, anytime, anywhere.”

The company also explained:

“Fitmo intends to revolutionize how people reach their health goals by making personalised health coaching available to the mass market and by making the process easier and more enjoyable. In the long-term, we’re aiming to become the marketplace with a wide range of coaching expertise. However, our immediate focus is popular fitness goals, such as weight-loss, muscle building and running, where ultimately we want to help more people break through their personal barriers.”

fitmo-2Fitmo is notably backed by long-distance runner, Haile Gebrselassie, who is the company’s first celebrity ambassador. He recently stated:

“In 25 years of international running I gained a lot of experience and knowledge. Now it’s time to share my knowledge with you, in the hope that you come to enjoy running as much as I do.”

Funds from Fitmo’s Seedrs intiative will notably go towards product, business, and corporate sales development.
