Crowdfunding can be an alternative to classic financing means for entrepreneurs
To date this form of financing has been deployed mostly to collect smaller sums for social projects. Roughly 6.6 million Germans have already made online donations for social causes. That corresponds o 12% of all Internet users, according to a representative survey by Bitkom.

With Startnext, Betterplace and Pling, a number of Crowdfunding Platform have established themselves in Germany. They allow the creators to present their given projects and establish the target financing amount. For entrepreneurs Crowdfunding represents an alternative to traditional financing forms says Bitkom CEO Bernhard Rohleder.

Crowdfunding hilft Start-ups
Crowdfunding kann für Unternehmensgründer eine Alternative zu klassischen Finanzierungsformen sein.
Bisher wurde diese Form der Finanzierung hauptsächlich für das Sammeln von kleinen Beträgen für soziale Projekte genutzt. Rund 6,6 Millionen Deutsche haben bereits soziale Projekte via Internet unterstützt. Das entspricht zwölf Prozent der Internetnutzer, wie eine repräsentative Umfrage des Branchenverbands Bitkom ergab.
Im Schwarm finanziert
Mit Startnext, Betterplace und Pling habe sich in Deutschland inzwischen eine Reihe von Crowdfunding-Plattformen etabliert. Auf den Plattformen stellen die Initiatoren ihre jeweiligen Projekte vor und legen die angepeilte Finanzierungssumme fest. Für Unternehmensgründer sei Crowdfunding eine Alternative zu klassischen Finanzierungsformen, sagt Bitkom-Hauptgeschäftsführer Bernhard Rohleder.
