Online retailer of handmade biscuits, Biscuiteers, has officially closed its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. The company launched the initiative in early October, seeking £550,000. During the round, Biscuiteers not only surpassed its initial goal, it attracted £1,233,780 from 774 investors.
As previously reported, Biscuiteers products are stocked at some retailers such as John Lewis, Selfridges, and Fortnum & Mason. The company has also made biscuits for well-known brands such as Cartier, Christian Dior, and Net a Porter. It also noted that it has 100,000 customers in almost 100 countries throughout the world. Biscuiteers also claimed it is one of the first companies in the UK to offer luxurious collections of hand-iced biscuits to send as gifts:
“With exceptional packaging and a range of constantly changing seasonal collections, Biscuiteers believe they’ve created a whole new sector in the premium gift market.”
In the final update, the Biscuiteers team thanked investors for the highly successful campaign:
“Everyone at Biscuiteers has been overwhelmed by the support of our customers, friends and investors during our Crowdfunding campaign. Thank you so much for all your kind words and for making investments in such large numbers. We are thrilled to see the Biscuiteers team going from strength to strength and look forward to growing into a bigger and better business in the years to come.”
Funds from the campaign will be used to expand and growth Biscuiteers.
