Fundraising Platform School Notices Quickly Raises Over £620,000 on Crowdcube

School Noticesa UK-based parent to parent noticeboard and school fundraising platform, has recently launched a campaign on equity crowdfunding Crowdcube. The website is looking to raise £700,000 and so far has already raised more than £620,000 from over 50 investors.

Schools-300x199The digital fundraising and membership platform, which was founded in 2014 by co-founders Clare Reid and Gordon Dawson, was created exclusively for independent schools, their parents, and businesses interested in targeting the HNW sector. The website provides the following:

  • A digital noticeboard, which raises funds for international and charitable causes.
  • Free trading platform for buying, selling, or renting items and finding older children holiday or gap year work.
  • Direct route into advertising demographic through the website, direct email newsletters, and magazine, which reaches 20,000 families.

The School Notices team revealed:

By initially focusing on independent schools, the business has been able to target the high net worth sector to maximise value for both its member schools and for early business growth. The business is now profitable with over 57 member schools and over 3,500 member parents.”

School Notices is also making plans to expand into all schools and universities both locally and overseas. It recently launched Uni Notices with Trinity College. Funds from the campaign will be used for the digital portion of School Notices’ website, along with expanding its team to accurate growth and advertising operations. The website added:

Having funded the website development and business growth ourselves since launch in 2014, we are now a profitable business, with a proven model and are excited about the opportunity to scale. We have proved School Notices is a business that works for schools, their parents and businesses and we are now expanding into new markets with the launch of Uni Notices in Oct’16 and meetings with 5 schools in Asia in Jan’17 to develop the overseas markets.”

The campaign is set to close at the beginning of February.
