Alternative Investment Platform CAIS Reports Increase in Demand for White Label Funds Among Broker-Dealers

CAIS, the alternative investment platform for independent financial advisors, continues to see an increase in demand for customized white label funds among independent broker-dealers (IBDs) and registered investment advisors (RIAs) “seeking alternative asset allocations on behalf of their clients.”

CAIS’ white label fund solutions–Custom Funds–”allows financial advisors to outsource fund formation and operations management to the CAIS Platform, making these processes more time-efficient and cost-effective.” In doing so, firms can “leverage the full breadth and scale of CAIS’ technology and operational infrastructure, while maintaining full investment decision-making autonomy.”

Colin Lucas, Director of Custom Funds at CAIS, said:

“CAIS continues to be a leader in white label fund creation and the partner of choice for advisors looking for flexible solutions that help them deploy capital into alternative assets more easily. Between our experience in this space and ability to integrate with third-party tech platforms, we anticipate that Custom Funds will represent a multi-billion-dollar market opportunity.”

A recent CAIS-Mercer survey found “that advisors cited high levels of administration (51%) as one of the greatest challenges to adopting alternatives in their portfolios.”

CAIS’ Custom Funds offering “improves operational efficiency through features like electronic subscription documents, automated post-trade reporting, and deep data integrations.”

The firm recently “expanded its partnership with Colony Group, a leading advisory firm that oversees $19 billion in client assets, to build a customized multi-manager private equity fund for their advisors and end-clients.”

Jonathan Lee, Director of Private Strategies, The Colony Group, said:

“When creating our first custom private equity vehicle, we were intent on working with a partner that could deliver at scale, had deep expertise structuring private funds, and had a proven track-record of empowering the private wealth channel. With our experience using CAIS’ technology successfully for over a decade, we had confidence that their custom funds model would help us deliver a smoother and more efficient private equity investing experience to our clients.”

CAIS’ recently “released Custom Funds whitepaper explores the different ways that advisors can customize their firm’s offerings on the CAIS Platform.”

This includes multi-manager vehicles “for a diverse mix of funds across managers, strategies and vintages that seek to fit clients’ portfolio needs, as well as scalable single-manager feeder vehicles that can reduce trading and operational costs.”
