Well I am not quite certain what I think about this statistic. Is this a comment on Kickstarter? Going viral on the internet? Or the love of Potato Salad? So the Potato Salad crowdfunding campaign is the 4th most viewed crowdfunding campaign ever on the eponymous crowdfunding platform. The top ten most viewed are as follows:
- Ouya game console
- Pebble watch
- Veronica Mars movie
- Potato Salad
- Double Fine Adventure
- Project Eternity
- Penny Arcade
- Reading Rainbow
- Mighty No. 9
- Oculus Rift
The other nine pretty much make sense as they were all very popular crowdfunding campaigns. Ouya and Pebble are 1 & 2 on the most funded list (for the moment). I guess I will have to chalk this one up to sheer utter curiosity. Kickstarter has shared a graph showing how the traffic trended on the campaign page.
Generating over 100,000 unique visitors per hour is pretty incredible.
In looking at the different states that rushed in to back the project Ohio – understandably takes first place. But those crazy people in California certainly gave those Buckeyes a run for their money.
But Potato Salad love is a global phenomena. Backers from around the world poured in to get a piece of the action.
