Sensory Perspective Ltd. hits $500,000 During Its Equity Crowdfunding Campaign on Crowdcube

Earlier this month, Holborn, London-based EMR detector company, Sensory Perspective Ltd., launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube to expand its growing company. Offering 25% equity for £1.15 million, the project has so far raised £511,190 by 42 investors.

Sensory PerspectivesAs previously reported by Crowdfund Insider, Sensory Perspective sells shielding products, along with a consumer, handheld device that detects and measures electromagnetic radiation, also known as EMR. Sensory Perspective produces a range of EMR protection solutions, which includes fine Swiss curtain material, shielding paint, wallpaper and even clothing. All of these act as “barrier products” that consumers can readily test for themselves.

According its description on the campaign website, the Sensory Perspective team noted, “In the past 100 years, the amount of man-made microwave frequency electromagnetic radiation (EMR) around us has increased by a trillion times. Research has shown this is driven in part by the increasing global use of wireless communications and the internet.”

“Governments and international authorities are now acting to reduce public exposure, instigated in part by:

  • Sensory Perspective 3the latest guidance report on the issue of the health impacts of EMR, the Bioinitiative Report, reviewed 1800 recent studies and concluded that current public exposure standards are far from adequate to protect public health in nearly every country in the world;
  • an Italian Supreme Court Judgment finding a causal link between mobile phone use and cancer and;
  • Warnings from the WHO when it recently reclassified EMR as a Class 2B carcinogen, in the same category as lead, DDT and chloroform.”

“When even the small print in your mobile phone manual warns you to keep the phone 15mm away from your body at all times (in order to remain below the safety guidelines), it’s clear that managing our exposure is an increasing priority. For more news of international action, please see the uploaded document ‘Global News re EMR at 5-2014.'”

“Sensory Perspective’s devices benefit from in-house developed technology which detects the EMR generated from all wireless transmitters in common and growing use today. As an early mover in the emerging EMR Healthcare sector, and with a wide range of products, Sensory Perspective is building a reputation as a game changer by putting the knowledge and technology developed in the professional EMR measurement tool industry into the hands of consumers and intermediaries worldwide.”

“Our attractive detectors are tested by independent laboratories to international standards and sell for between £30 and £300. Sensory Perspective produces a range of protection solutions including fine Swiss curtain material, shielding paint and wallpaper, and even clothing. All of which do their jobs as ‘barrier products’ which the consumer can readily test for themselves.”

“Sensory Perspective has already proven its concept in the market, having completed a 5-year Test Marketing Phase resulting in 10,000 unit sales of its first “Electrosmog Detector” product, and generating a turnover of £750,000. It sold detectors and protection through every possible channel to market, from direct sales to households through to B2B via RS Components and Conrad Electronics.”

Nicholas CloughCEO and co-founder of Sensory Perspective Nick Clough stated, “We have already proven our detection and shielding solution in the market and are now ready to launch follow up product and expand further into North America, Europe, Asia, and India.”

He then added, “We have assembled an extremely strong management team including a former CEO of Sony Europe and a VP of Johnson & Johnson USA to guide our expansion plans. We are hugely excited as we are the first company in the EMR Healthcare Sector to take the equity crowdfunding route, and we hope investors will share our excitement in the upcoming launch of our new, high quality, low-cost cigar-shaped detector, code named Sherlock, which their investment will make possible.”

The share offer qualifies for Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) tax relief. Interested investors can invest as little as £10 for an ordinary B share, and £7500 or more for A shares. The campaign is set to close one month.
