Investment crowdfunding site Seedrs has posted a record breaking month for the funding platform. According to a report, for the month of September £5.6 million (Over $9 million USD) was invested through the funding portal. The money raised went to 14 different diverse businesses.
This brings the total businesses funded for 2014 to 81 companies. Seedrs now claims to be “the most active equity crowdfunding platform in the world”. Seedrs stated they continue to see growing investment volumes.
Seedrs was launched in May of 2012. The platform announced this past July they had generated a monthly profit for the first time. Seedrs recently launched an equity crowdfunding round for publicly traded firm Chapel Down. The campaign, the first public company to offer shares via equity crowdfunding, has raised £4.27 million is still funding but scheduled to close at 12 midnight on October 1st.
