Pavegen decided to take the equity crowdfunding approach a little over two years after its Kickstarter campaign closed. During the final hours of its campaign, the company successfully secured £2 million.

According to the Pavegen, Martin spent ten years as an executive at Apple, leading the music, entertainment, and new media markets. After Apple’s purchase of NEXT, he worked directly with Steve Jobs and was integral in the multimedia market strategy, design, and launch of the iMac, Mac OS X and iMovie. Martin is also CEO and Founder of Tribal Planet Inc. – a Silicon Valley-based technology company working at the intersection of cause, entertainment, mobile and commerce.

Pavegen shared:

“Jeff’s role as an advisor to Pavegen will involve building out the technology within the smart city environment, ensuring that Pavegen is one of the core components within the smart cities of the future and other digital infrastructure. He will be working alongside Pavegen in future key markets, including the Middle East and the USA.”

Martin added:

Jeff Martin“I believe in Pavegen and its products. Laurence and I share a vision that for the world to advance in light of the challenges we now face. The best product thinking and innovation will be less about consumer electronics and “must have” mobile entertainment devices, and far more about the needs to make sustainable energy both more consumer relevant and accessible – equally for the rich and in the developing world. It’s a breakthrough technology that will make a difference to the way we live and engage in the future – through harnessing the power of human-generated energy.”
