Coin, the one card to replace them all, has released they are continuing their presale of the product for the foreseeable future. Coin’s purpose is to create a product that simplifies and improves your life.
The card replacement device previously announced they had hit their crowdfunding goal of raising $50,000 within 40 minutes of launching their self-crowdfunding campaign. There was no announcement on total amount crowdfunded to date.
Coin has set up a Coin Backers Club where individuals who have purchased the product may keep up to date on progress, see backer only updates and engage with the Coin community. There will also be a multimedia backer video series.
The company has stated they are focused on delivering a next-level product to its incredibly supportive backers. Much of the value of a crowdfunding campaign is derived from the tight-knit early adopter community and the wealth of feedback they provide, which is instrumental in shaping the final product. The popularity of its viral video on YouTube, now at over 7.6 million views, is what sparked Coin to begin using video to better communicate progress to its community of early supporters.
“It is extremely important to us to maintain trust, transparency and a two-way channel with the Coin community,” said founder and CEO Kanishk Parashar. “We want to create a window into our company and involve our backers every step of the way.”
The device will eventually retail for $100, but early backers can continue to enjoy discount pricing starting at $50. Special discounts include $5 off for every friend you refer. Coin expects to begin shipping devices in Summer 2014.
