The UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA) have announced their short list of award nominees for 2013. Both Seedrs and Crowdcube, UK based platforms which offer equity crowdfunding, have made the list. Crowdcube just announced joining the group earlier this year.
The two are competing for the specific award as they are in the running for the “Best New Entrant to the Angel and Early Stage Investment Market. The award is sponsored by Midven. There are 6 total on the shortlist.
The UKBAA was overwhelmed by this years response and quality of the overall entries. There was a 40 % 
increase in nominees from 2012.
Crowdcube has also revealed they have been nominated for “Private Investor Network of the Year” from the Investor Allstars for 2013. This award has been described as the “Oscars” for Venture Capital. This award is open to all business angel networks which includes family offices and private investor clubs in Europe.
