Spike Lee is quickly becoming one of the most outspoken advocates of crowdfunding in recent memory, lambasting any reporter or pundit that dares to heap criticism on the director for using Kickstarter to fund his next feature film.
The latest to draw Lee’s ire? Trish Regan of Bloomberg. In a recent “Reganomix” segment she played to the controversy surrounding Lee’s campaign and campaigns like it on popular crowdfunding websites such as Kickstarter. She led with the following assertion:
‘Do the right thing.’ That’s what many are saying to Spike Lee as they call on the famed director to end his new Kickstarter campaign.
Lee was unamused to say the least. He interrupted her introduction to question why she would lead with such a question and went about attacking the assumptions made about his personal wealth and motivations for being on the platform. Watch below…
