Crowdcube’s Venture Fund to Close Next Week

Crowdcube Venture FundEquity crowdfunding company Crowdcube will be closing their first foray into offering a Fund of Crowdfunded Investments.  Venture Fund will close on Wednesday, February 26, 2014.

Launched on January 28, 2014, Crowdcube has experienced significant demand for the product.  The investment vehicle allows individuals to take a more passive approach towards investing in small companies and startups by allowing a professional entity to manage the investment decisions.  Strathtay Ventures, a firm with over 15 years experience in investing in Strathtay Ventures Pantoneearly stage businesses, is the manager of the fund.  A unique benefit of the vehicle is the tax benefit of the EIS and SEIS tax relief opportunities.   The minimum investment for participation is £2500.00.  Strathtay’s stated objective is to deliver profitable exits by the end of a 5 year period.  Returns over 7% will be split 80:20 with investors receiving the larger portion.

While this is the first go at offering a Fund for those with limited time to research their own investments, Crowdcube will immediately commence a second round following the close next week.

Additional information on the fund is available on the Crowdcube site.
