Robo.cash Reveals that 34% of P2P Investors have Expanded their Portfolios to Generate Passive Income

The team at Robo.cash reveals that around 34% of P2P investors have expanded their investment portfolios to generate passive income.

As noted by Croatian lender Robo.cash, passive income remains the number-one goal among European peer-to-peer investors. By giving preference to shares, they diversify their investments with “a wide range of instruments, which indicates their high degree of financial literacy.”

According to the results of the latest survey carried out by the Robocash platform, P2P investments, among other instruments, “rank third in the investor portfolios (19.5%).” The respondents “pay more attention to shares (26%) and ETFs (25%).”

Notably, the cryptocurrency markets, which caused a particular surge of interest during 2021, now rank sixth among other assets. According to a July survey performed by Robo.cash, two-thirds of P2P investors had some crypto-assets in their portfolio.

While the majority of survey respondents are mostly interested in passive savings, a considerable 28% choose diversification as their primary motive for selecting P2P investments. High returns “are in third place, respectively (20%).”

Robocash analysts noted:

“Fairly confident portfolio diversification indicates significant customer investment experience. This is expressed both in the inclusion of various types of assets in investor portfolios, and in the choice of different strategies within one of the instruments.”

For instance, only around 15% of Robocash customers invest “just in short-term loans.” At the same time, when choosing a specific P2P platform, investors are “guided by various factors, which also indicates a quite deep understanding of what is happening in the industry.”

As covered recently, Croatian P2P lender Robo.cash noted that 20% of peer-to-peer investors have a job in the IT & Digital industries.

At the same time, the share of customers “with minimal income has decreased to make way for ‘richer’ investors with bigger average earnings,” the management at Robo.cash wrote in a blog post. These are the results of a survey performed by the Robocash team.

Robo.cash pointed out that full-time workers “continue to be the main occupation for the European P2P investors (76.5%), which retains the trend of the last two years.”
